Checked baggage with Austrian Airlines: what you need to know
Austrian Airlines' free checked baggage allowance is determined by your fare, route and travel class.
Economy Basic and Economy Light do not normally include a free checked bag. Austrian allows eligible passengers to purchase a first standard checked bag, with the price depending on the itinerary and when it is added.
Other Economy fares generally include one checked bag weighing up to 23kg. Business Class uses a higher maximum of 32kg per checked piece, subject to the allowance on the ticket.
A standard checked bag must not exceed 158cm when height, width and length are added together. Larger, heavier or additional bags are treated as excess baggage.
